TIAF to review animation

Iranian animated piece ‘Maned & Macho’ is slated to be reviewed at the Tehran International Animation Festival.

Directed by Shiva Sadeq-Asadi, the film will be analyzed in an expert meeting session during the 11th edition of the festival.

‘Maned & Macho’ is about a girl’s repressed emotions and instincts, which are embodied in some animals that come out of her dreams. However, no one in her family is receptive to these animals.

The 11-minute animation has so far attended a number of international film events, including the 41st Göteborg Film Festival in Sweden, the 47th Giffoni International Film Festival in Italy, the 35th Busan International Short Film Festival in South Korea, the 36th Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival in the US, the 16th Pacific Meridian International Film Festival of the Asian-Pacific region in Russia, and the 14th Indie-AniFest in South Korea.

The Tehran Animation Festival is a competitive event which takes place biennially. The main goal is to promote animation and broaden cultural interchange.

TIAF is not specified just for children and young adults, but any kind of artistic animated films, including those for children, young adults and adults section, can be sent to the festival.

The 11th Tehran International Animation Festival will run until March 7, 2019.
